The businesses of Dublin need the support of our community.

Support Dublin was developed during COVID-19 to support small businesses in Dublin. They still need our support, now, more than ever. Local businesses are the backbone of Dublin’s economy, but a rise in costs and high inflation pose big risks to their future. Support Dublin is a place for us to get together, find the best way to support our favourite local businesses and initiatives and do our bit to strengthen our community.

The businesses of Dublin need the support of our community.

So many people, families and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 and the closures that were necessary for all of our safety. Support Dublin is a place for us to get together, find the best way to support our favourite local businesses and initiatives and do our bit to strengthen our community.

Support a Local Business

Under each tab below are our local businesses, those run by our friends, our families and our neighbours. Information on supporting these businesses is beside each. This might be leaving an online review, ordering online or sharing a referral. Each business has different needs and different ways you can help.

Abbey Theatre
Theatre

We’re Going Online

In the theatre community we physically come together to create and share our work. The social distancing in place at the moment stops us from doing this, but this will not stop us creating opportunities to hear and share Ireland’s artistic voice.

Dear Ireland

In these unprecedented times, we have invited 50 writers from around the country each to write a monologue, to be performed by 50 actors. The writers include Blindboy, Deirdre Kinahan, Rosaleen McDonagh, Frank McGuinness, Enda Walsh & Carmel Winters. All of Dear Ireland’s 50 writers will be announced next week and the 50 actors will be announced in due course. In April, we will present each recorded piece of work on our digital channels, capturing a moment in time to share our thoughts through creative conversation. More information will be available here. We hope you will join us.

Irish Whiskey Museum
Whiskey Museum

The Irish Whiskey Museum is a visitor attraction situated on Grafton St opposite the main gates of Trinity College.  Opened in November 2014, it is a family run business, independent from the drinks industry. The Irish Whiskey Museum tells the unbiased history of the whiskey industry in Ireland and offers fully guided tours and whiskey tastings daily from 10am to 6pm.  All tours include a whiskey tasting masterclass with a minimum of three samples from different distilleries.  The tours are interactive and fun.

The Irish Whiskey Museum has launched The Whiskey Lock-In, live premium whiskey tastings that happen every Friday night 8-9PM from 29th May. These innovative online events include four carefully curated miniature whiskeys delivered to the guests’ doors in time for kick-off along with a souvenir Irish Whiskey Museum shot glass.  Within the current climate, virtual experiences are all the rage and this fits the bill perfectly. As an added extra, since the Irish Whiskey Museum is an Irish owned company, it’s also a chance to support local while having a great night in!
